Beginning July 1, 2026 all debit & credit card transactions will incur a 3.75% processing fee.

How to Avoid Credit & Debit Card Processing Fees 
Customers can continue to make payments with no added fees by choosing one of these options:

•Set Up automatic bank draft payments here.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are currently enrolled in Auto Pay using a credit or debit card, you must log in to your account and remove your existing Auto Pay enrollment before submitting your Bank Draft Authorization

•Pay by Check – Mail your payment to P.O. Box 160, Albemarle, NC 28002.

•Pay with Cash – Accepted at our customer service office at City Hall 144 N. 2nd Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.

PLEASE NOTE: Customers who have AutoPay setup with a credit or debit card will be charged the processing fee. To avoid the fee, customers will need to update their account to bank draft.
